Hi, I am pretty new to the world of Macs, I was wondering what anti-virus software (if any) people use on their Macs? Do people go down the Norton route or is a waste of money cause no-one hacks Macs?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I use the built in firewall. (sharing in system preferences)
I use a hardware fire wall that is built into my adsl router gateway box thingy. :)
and I keep an eye out for bad things that could hurt my mac. you'll read it on these forums first so you're ok thus far.

DO NOT USE NORTON FOR Mac. it is like a big virus itself! honestly!

And the thing on .mac (can't even remember who makes it) - Virex - is fairly lame as well.

If anyone makes an OS X virus there is no guarantee that any of the anti-virus packages will pick it up. They are like a vaccine for a disease not yet discovered.
