From the beginning I have been told that I don't need anti virus, spyware or adware as I did when I had a PC. I am just trying to verify that this is the case or if there is something I should be getting to protect my iMac and MacPro. Thanks for all your help.

To clarify a bit, you do not need anti-spyware or anti-virus software if you are using Mac OS X. The same is not true if you are running Windows on your Intel Mac. It is NOT the Apple hardware that protects you from threats, only the OS. If you choose to run Windows on your Mac, you will still need all of the same software that you would on any other PC to keep you protected.
