I'm wondering if people have ideas about what the specs of the anticipated MacBook Pros will be.

Currently, the 13" MacBook Pro starts with 256GB or 512GB of storage (depending on the model), but you can increase it to as much as 2GB (the cost to do so running between $200 and $800, depending on the model you start with and how much you increase the storage by).

The 16" MacBook Pro starts with 512GB or 1GB of storage (depending on the model), but you can increase it to as much as 8GB (the cost to do so running between $200 and $2,400, depending on the model you start with and how much you increazse the storage by).

I have always bought a computer with the most storage feasible, and I have never regretted that decision despite having misgivings about paying the premium. Nonetheless, I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to roughly double the cost of my purchase merely by increasing the size of the hard drive.

I'd guess that the new models will have the same base specs and options as the current models to start out with.

As far as prices go - hard to tell. It appears that Apple Silicon chips cost Apple less than Intel chips at the same performance.

I bought an Air 1/16 and a mini 512/16 and they're good systems. Storage is right for us at those levels because we have a home NAS.
