I've been rocking the Series 2 since it was released, and came from the Series 0 before that. I preordered a Series 4 last night and am really looking forward to the upgrade. There are a lot of great things about the 4, but the one I'm most looking forward to is speed/responsiveness.

Performance has always been mediocre on the Watch. The Series 2 and new OS releases helped, but I still find performance to be too slow to fully enjoy everything the watch offers, and this drives me away from using certain functions, especially third party apps.

I use Siri hands-free a lot, but after issuing a command I need to let my arm drop to wait for it to respond, and give me the double tap. Then I lift it back up to make sure it got the command right. It works, but it's less than fully satisfying.

I gave up on third party weather apps because they were unreliable and slow to load. iMessage is pretty good but there are still plenty of little lags in going through threads and dictating responses. Maps is not worth using at all - way too slow. And so on.

Based on everything I've seen/read, I expect the performance improvement between the Series 2 and 4 to be huge, and really open up possibilities for how I can use the watch efficiently. I've seen performance comparisons between the Series 3 and 2 and observed major improvements. The 4 is up to 2x faster than the 3! So it doesn't seem a stretch to say that Series 4 performance for loading apps and responding to commands should be near instant most of the time. Sure seems that way from the keynote hands-on videos on YouTube.

Anyone else excited about the performance improvements coming in the Series 4?

I've had each generation so far and I think the speed upgrade going from the S2 -> S3 was even more noticeable than the upgrade from S0 -> S2. The S4 sounds like it is going to be fantastic. Excited to get it next Friday.

Series 3 was a significant improvement over Series 2 with the faster dual core processor, obviously it's difficult to say what the Series 4 will offer in terms of speed, but with all the advanced health sensors, the S4 chip I would imagine they would should be a fairly decent upgrade in speed.

I'm still on the 0, so I think overall, anything will be an improvement.
