antivirus for occasional scan

I know that most of antivirus are just junk, and cause problems. I need some software to make an occasional scan of my system.

I used ClamXav but isn't free any more, is ClamAV ok?

Have you ever found anything running an occasional scan? If not, skip it.

I found all infected files coming from spam & co.

Here is a recent test where BitDefender did well and had a low impact on system resources.

I don't personally use an AV package, so cant give a personal recommendation.
