Antivirus Software

Just a question about Macs. Is it necessary for an Antivirus software? If yes, please recommend one. Thanks.

No, you don't need one unless your work requires you to have one (Macs don't get infected but they can still carry viruses in emails etc)

I have anti-virus software installed, but only to run occasional scans for peace of mind. I don't use an on-demand scanner of the type Windows computers have.

Its definitely not required. I only have an outdated copy of Intego VirusBarrier as they gave it away for free a while back, apart from that on 1 machine, I havent got a virus scanner and have had no problems on any of my Macs
