Hey all, I was just wondering if there's any suggestions for antivirus software for my mac (do i even need it?)...at the apple store, they have norton and virusbarrier x...is there a better one? Thanks!

Virex is a premium that is available to .mac subscribers. Norton Antivirus for the Mac is also available, as you know. There are no Mac-specific viruses. However, there are a lot of MS Office macroviruses out there. If you share files Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, or PowerPoint presentations with your friends and colleagues, then you may get infected files. Mac antivirus software will clean them up so that you are not a carrier of Windows viruses.
 
I don't use anything other than Virex.
As stated, unless you share a lot of MS files, you will probably be OK. Even then you are likely just to be a carrier, and not infected yourself.

Sit back and enjoy the Mac experience.
The day may come when you need to be concerned, but not today.
