hey guys,

do you think its necessary for me to install an antivirus and some spyware blockers ...?! i will be using torrents a lot and stuff like that..what say?!

any suggestions for a good free AV/Spyware?!

Im basically hesitant to install stuff like that cos im worried bout my systems performance..i know how it screwed up my windows machine..dont wanna take that chance on my mac!

You won't need any anti-virus or anti-spyware. At all. NONE.

If you want to be safe, just go to System Preferences -> Sharing and turn on the Firewall.

There have been 4 known instances of Mal-ware for OSX since it's introduction and they have long since been patched. There are currently no viruses in the wild for OSX. Using torrents and p2p (only for legal stuff right...) will not affect your Mac in any way shape or form.

Hell, I could turn off my Firewall, download torrents all day and surf the net's more salubrious sites and not even worry.
