I will probably get bashed for this. Try not to :D
I know Mac have a lower risk, much lower risk of getting viruses than windows, but if you would recommend an antivirus, for safety in downloading things from the internet, which one would it be for mac?

Well being as 0 viruses exist for Mac there is no risk. But if you still want an AV scanner, download ClamXAV (free).
 
Like with everyone, Im sure he also means trojans when he says viruses. People need to learn that virus is as ambiguous a term as "car" is.
 
Free options are ClamXAV and iAntivirus. ClamXAV scans mostly for Windows threats (which isn't bad since it'll keep you from propagating virus to Windows users). iAntivirus will catch to Mac trojans that are around.
 
Thanks. Yes you are right, when I say virus, I mean basically viruses, trojans and the lot. Thanks, I will look into those programs
