I have a Umax PowerLook 2100XL with SCSI connection. Umax does not offer any OSX updates for the driver. Are there any 3rd party programs that will allow me to use my scanner in OSX?

Thanks!

There is a program out there. Ah here it is. It's called VueScan. This should solve your problem. Umax is listed under the SCSI supported scanners section so it should work. You might be better off just getting a new scanner though.

Thanks!

Alphaone, thanks! Umax does offer the 2100XL with firewire now (and probably an updated driver) but Its tough to get rid of a $1200 scanner just because the company wont update its drivers. I'll be glad when this whole switch (9 to X) is behind us.

Thanks again!

I'll heartily endorse VueScan, too. Brought my ol' monster scanner back into the OS X game in a jiffy.

It's not the cheapest deal, though. Definitely weigh the cost of buying a new scanner...
