I got a replacement iPhone 4 and it came with iOS 4.3.0 I have it jailbroken, SHSH blobs saved using iFaith, Is there any real advantage in updating to iOS5? it seems like its not ready for prime time at the moment plus the tethered jailbreak puts me of.

Im waiting for untethered also.
If you want to go up to 5.0 stock and try it out you can always go back to 4.3 since you have blobs saved.

I heard there was an issue with the baseband in that you can't revert once you go to iOS5, did I get that wrong?

Yes, the baseband will be upgraded if you go up to stock 5.0 but the only issue is if you use a gevey turbo sim to unlock.
If you dont care about the unlock then there is no prob.
Or you can upgrade and maintain your old baseband also.

If iOS 5 doesn't appeal to you, then no.

I find ios 5 to be a significant upgrade with a heck of a lot more features than there were in 4.3. And I love it along with my tethered jailbreak.
