Hi, I recently purchased the iPad and am looking to streamline my life. There are way too many things to keep track of especially with a family. I like simplicity in my life, even though life really never is. With that in mind, does anyone know of any apps that can stream video and audio to all the devices listed? I'm looking for one app that does it all.

I understand that I'd have to keep a client software open on the computer. I'm fine with that. I currently use Rivet on the Mac for the Xbox or PS3. But, I was hoping for something that I could use to stream to my iPad while outside my home network.

Anyone have any ideas? If not, what would be the difficulty in getting this accomplished?

I'm thinking of reposting this under the Mac threads as well.

Thank you.

Are you looking to stream video/music files?

Or just data.

Dropbox is your friend for the second.

For the first, Air Video talks about outside of the LAN streaming, but I haven't tried it. It has a free version of it's app and server software, so might be worth experimenting.

Of course, the big problem with streaming media is bandwidth. If you're on another network (at the office for example) it's not as big of a drain (though they might frown on it) but like over the 3G, I'd assume the data charges would rack up quickly.

Not if you have Verizon. Unlimited data included in plan.

But, I'm more interested in something that can stream to iPad and the Xbox or PS3. One app or program that does it all. Most of the apps require you to have client software on the computer. This is also required for streaming to the xbox and PS3 anyway. My question is why not have something that does all of it since you need that client software for everything?

Also there are apps that stream outside your home network. There's a thread on here promoting one of those apps.
