Was curious if we have any Apple Watch users in the forum who might be instructors, personal trainers, etc. and how they utilize their watch on a day-to-day basis?

I taught tennis for 34 years and have had AW since day one and used and still use it for personal use during my job. Since the release of last years software update, the AW has set the standard in the industry with it’s optical heart rate. Before the update I had to wear chest strap monitor to get anything reliable. I’ve tested the AW optical against a chest strap and has been true at least 95% of the time.

i'm a freelance group fitness instructor and i use the watch to control music (play/pause) on my iphone that's connected to the audio system.. and i track my calorie burn too..

so far that's the only use i've gotten with the watch, will be interesting to see what else is there...

Awesome thread.

Bodybuilder here (I don’t coach, but here’s my perspective). The Apple Watch for me primarily is my calorie burner/and notification device. I don’t carry my iPhone with me in the gym and the watch eliminates that, especially being I work around Weights/machines frequently, I’d rather not take the risk of breaking my iPhone. Anyways, it’s a _great_ tracking device To monitor the heart rate as well. The fact you can store/play your music is a stellar feature.

I actually don’t track my reps, I go to ‘failure’ every single time no matter what I’m training (I.e. Back/chest/arms). So in my case, it wouldn’t be necessary to track reps. But, I’m not aware of any decent app for that. If I come across one, I’ll pass it along.
