any apps that are perfect for music editing?

A couple of friends and I just want to edit a few songs so that the songs dont have very long intros (mostly dance music and all of that). But I havent really com across anything that was made for the mac, im trying to find a free version/application. Has anyone come across one?

Yeah. Doesn't sound like you need anything too high-end, so GarageBand should be pretty capable of that...?

One application I've used for about eight years now is SndSampler (http://www.sndsampler.com/). It's shareware and performs many of the tasks that much more expensive programs do at a much lower price.
