Any apps that can display subtitles?

Hiya

I'm looking for a movie app that can display subtitles on my iPhone 4. I currently have various movie files with associated subtitle files.

I can play the movies / avi files fine via iTunes / Netportal (connects to my Time Capsule) or via VLC / Apple's Videos app, but I can't get subtitles up.

I'd like to avoid re-encoding all my media with hard-coded burnt-in subtitles.

Any ideas?
