Any bugs with high seirra?

hi guys I was wondering if high Seirra is buggy... would it ruin the laptops performance? I apparently need it to be able to run Xcode and I wanted to start coding apps for fun. But I'm wondering if it's worth the risk.. I enjoy 14 hours of battery life light usage and I hear some people complain of battery issues and the laptop malfunctioning after the high seirra update. What are you opinions? Is there any significant benefit?
