So I, like many of you, am following the news of Apple and ATT canceling random iPhone 4 orders. From what I've gathered these all seem to be from people who ordered from either apple.com or AT&T.com, paid with a credit card and set them up to ship to their home as apposed to setting up an in-store pickup reservation. Can anyone let me know if this ISNT the case? Has anyone had a canceled order who's signed up for in store pickup on launch day?

Pre-orders and reservations are two different things.

If you reserved the phone, it has been said various times (from people on this forum talking to apple employees) that as long as you have your reservation confirmation email, you will be fine.
 
My reservation is still good to go. I check it at least 3 times a day just to be sure. This might be over-kill, but seeing the clusterfrak that's been happening the past few days it's reassuring seeing my reservation on the Apple Store app. I wish the 24th were here already!

Just got my order canceled! (In store pickup)
I called AT&T and they had absolutely
no idea why and told me it was a system
wide problem. They took down my name
and said they would get back to me (Ya right!)

If they screw this up and I don't get my phone
then I will go to another carrier. I love my iPhone
but I absolutely cannot stand AT&T anymore.

Seriously if they didn't have the iPhone they would
have nowhere near the amount of subscribers they
have now with the service they offer!!

Sorry for the rant but I'm beyond pissed right now...

I dunno where you live but if you're on the east coast, getting customer service at this time is pretty nice. I'm not gonna lie.

They also probably wouldn't have such an overloaded network had they not carried the iPhone...

This is a reason why I want the iPhone to come to Verizon. Let's see their "amazing" network handle such a data-hog phone.
 
It's not just the overloaded network it's the constant
screwing up on my bills and the overall incompetence.

I honestly didn't care if the iPhone ever went to another network
but I'm beginning to change my mind. I just can't stand
AT&T anymore. I'm pretty sure at this point I would
switch to a different carrier even if the cost was a little
higher. There network will feel a strain of course but
I'm just about done with AT&T.

Also I'm on the west coast and yes it was nice to be able to
get a hold of somebody but the typical lack of ANY answers was frustrating..
 
I personally think AT&T is great. Never have dropped calls...and their data service is the fastest around..in real life tests i've done against sprint 4g and others, and from the tests done by bigger companies. AT&T isn't bad in my area...and if verizon had gotten the iPhone instead of AT&T...everyone would be saying the same thing about them.
 
That's great for you, I'm super happy your service is great!

However I have a nice collection of failed calls
in my picture folder just so I can prove to
AT&T in case they ask. I'm in San Diego and
I do not use my phone if I need to make a call
that I'm worried about dropping.

BTW I have many Apple product from iPhones
to iPads and a iPod touch so this is more a
reflection on AT&T especially in my area.
It might be all roses in your area but not mine.
 
Umm gee I don't know maybe cause I like the damn
phone so much I was really hoping AT&T would get there
Crap together in my area!!

I currently own 2 iPhones, 1 iPod touch, an iPad, and two more iPods
for the kids so I'm really hesitant to switch from apple but
AT&T is doing a great job pushing me away.

I know it's different depending on where you live but where I live
AT&T constantly drops calls on me.

How do you check a reservation? It's not listed under orders (at least mine) in the Apple Store.

1: If you haven't already, download the Apple Store app, it's free.
2: Tap on the "Stores" selection
3: Select the store in which you reserved your iPhone
4: Tap "reservations"

You should see your reservation. Also, did you get a confirmation email for your reservation?
