Big blackjack player and some roulette here

However went to mohegan last night. 200 down. But im always willing to fight another day lol

What you guys like to play?

No. I know more satisfying ways to lose my money, and when I run out of ideas, Apple always comes with something new ;)

I like to play Blackjack.

I never go into a casino expecting to come out with money. I bring $20, and play as long as it lasts (or I had enough). Once I run out, I'm done.

Usually lasts ~2 hours for me. $20 for 2 hours of fun (and free drinks) is a Good Deal™

I love playing Black Jack. Most I've won in one sitting is $1k, most I've lost is $350. I usually buy in for $100-$150 and play relatively conservative so I can make it last. I've had many streaks where I've played for 3-6 hours without leaving the table. I prefer tables with 1-2 maybe 3 other experienced, knowledgable players. Any more than that and I've always felt that the decks get diluted and the player cards and dealer cards are closer to being even (maybe it's just me, but playing thousands of hands over thousands of hours, I've found it to work out this way). I also like going heads up against the dealer with two hands or playing two hands with one other player at the table.

Black Jack is a lot of fun, one of the few casino games where I feel the player has a touch of control over how they do (a TOUCH, not much more than that, lol), and it's a game where playing consistently, following generally accepted strategy, over a period of time, can yield positive results. BUT, once your start panicing and swinging for the fences, it's usually game over, lol.

I used to play a lot more often when I had more free time. Now I play maybe once every 3-4 months?

Minnesota is actually pretty well known for having a few really nice casinos. Plus the gambling age is 18.

I go maybe 3... 4 times a year. It's fun. I usually just do slots and talk with friends for 4-5 hours a time. Played Roulette a few times and won big but also lost big at times. Play occasional blackjack, it's enjoyable with a good table with fun people to talk to.

Anyone have advice on an easy way to memorize the blackjack mathematical rules? I have a tough time knowing when to hit, split, and quit.

I've gone twice this year (not my first time though, been in the past), probably going again in a month or so. Usually go for like six hours. Although this last time we stayed and played for three days. I did like from 10AM to 10PM the first day, then pretty much slept in the hotel room for the next two days, only playing for a few hours.

I just do slots too. You don't go in there to win, just to enjoy yourself. Which I do, but it gets tiring very easily, especially since I spend a lot of time looking for the cheapest machines and something that looks interesting. I get bored too, I'd rather go shopping.

I occasionally play some poker at the local casino. Its pretty fun, although I make sure I have a clear spend limit and I make sure I know when to stop if I do end up winning.

It takes time and experience to remember all the generally accepted "rules". It can be pretty situational, too.

Split anything under 10's against a dealer 4-5-6 (and maybe 2 or 3, it depends on how much you're better, whether you're up or down, how aggressive you want to play, etc.).

I always double on a hard 11. Double on a hard 10 if the dealer has a 9 or less showing. And if you want to get aggressive, double on a hard 5-6-7-8 if the dealer has a 4-5-6 showing because you're banking on the dealer busting when they're showing 4-5-6. Again, it depends on whether you're up or down, how much your bet is and if you want to play aggressively or conservatively.

I usually play pretty coservatively when the dealer has a 2 showing. SOme consider the 2 a bust card but in my experience, more often than not they end up making a hand when they have a 2 showing, so I don't get too reckless hoping they'll bust when they have a 2 showing.

I hit on hard 16 when the dealer is showing 7 or higher. People seem to be about 50/50 when it comes to hitting on hard 16. You need to assume the dealer is going to pull a 10, and a 16 doesn't be a 17-21. Whether you hit or not on a hard 16, I think you just need to stay consistent. The ONE time you decide not to hit it is the time you SHOULD have hit it, and vice versa. Stay consistent.

There are a ton of other little nuances I'm overlooking, those are some of the tips that just came to the top of my head.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to split 5's under any circumstance.

Sorry, DOUBLE on those 5's, don't split. :)

Double on 4's as well against a dealer 4-5-6 if you want to get somewhat aggressive. Theoretically you should pull an 18 and the dealer should break. Doubling or splitting isn't a bad move here though. You can split in hopes that you pull at least one under card and you get an opportunity to double on one or both of your split hands. And pray the dealer breaks. :)

Sorry, I was just running through all the scenarios in my head, it's easier when it's on a table in front of me. :)

I like to gamble. Since I'm in Virginia and there's absolutely no casinos in VA (sucks), I go pretty often to AC, Vegas like twice a year. Play lots of poker, blackjack, craps too. Recently went to charlestown in wva, wanna try some casinos in Maryland/Delaware soon.
