Here in Aus the estimated shipping time for any MBP with a touchbbar is 3-4 weeks!

Historically what are the chances of these arriving sooner than that ETA?

Did you check the stores? they usually have standard configs stock. They even have the BTO 15" 2.9/1TB/460 in some stores.

Apparently not at my local Apple Store :( do you know if they become available in store, you can pick them up rather than waiting for a delivery?

In Germany/Berlin store they got this week the 13" TB standard configs which u can buy now. Ordering online delivery shows mid January.

no 15incher so far. But I think it's very likely that in AUS they get them in store as well befor xmas. Just order online and when they have it in store before your unit arrives cancel order...

Aha ok, so you can't just turn up in an Apple Store and have your order fulfilled using their retail stock?

No, they are separate. But you can just buy it in store and cancel the online order right away. You won't get charged online if the item is not shipped.

As long as you're not looking for a BTO configuration, you'll get it.

Apple's not going to miss the holiday sales. At this point, unless you want custom config, yr way better off watching retail stock.

Just go to the Apple website and check local store stocks of the computer you want, pay for it when it has "pickup today" as an option. And don't forget you can always check multiple locations at once (there's a button)
