I wonder if there is any chance to see the new iPhone 6 tonight at the media event and not the 5S .

Ask Tim I would say. I doubt they are too secretive about future iPhones and would be happy to show you what is in their pocket or perhaps a few schematic drawings. :p

No I think the 5S is a dead cert for tonight. Throw me a hat though, I may have to eat it :)

this is all we're getting

If they gave you exactly what everyone's expecting with the 5S but they called it a 6, would you be happier?

I also mean an updated external design ;)

In this case, Yes, I would :)

But if all the internals are updated why do so many complain about the external design, oh its because people on the street won't be able to notice the difference between the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S and so you loose that coolness level of having something new that people approach you to talk and look at.

never heard the word innovation?

Internal innovation counts as innovation, doesn't it?

But the mentality is if the external is the same the internal is also the same. The iPhone 5 is not that different from the iPhone 4S, except it has a larger display and thinner shell, but performs the same as the iPhone 4S.

Anyway, I don't think people will be happy to see an iPhone6 with the exactly same form factor of iPhone5.

Hey Frank! You really that hard up that you have to accept payment from Samsung to write these comments? Or is it that you really don't get that the ecosystem and well designed software and hardware that does the job better than anyone is more desirable than junky plastic Asian design?

It's so funny how many people are using the word 'innovation' and don't really know what the meaning and economic point about it is.

why don't you explain it, teacher.

I don't want to because it's to complex. But if you ask a company for an innovation every year in the same product category you clearly don't understand the real meaning of innovation. The smartphone was an innovation but not some new things added to this.

Here from wikipedia:
"While something novel is often described as an innovation, in economics, management science and other fields of practice and analysis it is generally considered a process that brings together various novel ideas in a way that they have an impact on society."

It'll be 5S. Wait 1 more year for the iPhone 6 moniker, it's Apple's naming trend.

I pray for a 6

The whole "S" model thing worked for a while, but it would be rather silly to have on the market:

- the 4
- the 4s
- the 5
- the 5c
- the 5s

If you're going to keep the older phones to give customers options, then I would get rid of the 4/4s all together since Apple is moving in the direction of the Lightning cord and away from the 30-pin. Keep the 5 as an entry-level device. Allow the 5c to be the fun phone for those who may want an iPhone with some of the perks for a lower price. THEN, make the 6 the flagship phone. There is NO NEED for a 5s if they are making a 5c. Just my .02
