I need two displays, I like these studio displays, but I'm not sure I need two sets of speakers and two cameras. Any chance we will see a 27" Apple display without camera and speakers? Something at $999 or $1299?

If not, maybe LG will release a lower priced iteration of this display without the camera and speakers this summer. Seems possible.

exactly what I am looking for as well. seems unlikely since apple likes to minimize their SKU count as much as possible but a lower priced LG version would be great.

I definitely don’t see that happening in this price range. Apple offers the Pro Display XDR without webcam and speakers, because people who buys these displays likely will have a separate audio system anyway. In the price range of the Studio Display, I think apple will always include camera, mics and speakers

Apple has integrated speakers and cameras in almost all their lineup for quite a long time in their standalone displays as well as older G3/G4/G5 iMacs.

I am currently using an ancient 2011 27" Thunderbolt display on my current M1 Mini and love it.

Ordered a Studio display to work alongside it (dual display).

When I Zoom or WebEx - the camera chosen be from the Thunderbolt display due to the lower camera resolution. Really don't want the high details of the Studio display camera for my tired face...

Microphone will be from the Studio display.

And as for the sound, I'll choose the internal speakers of the Studio Display.

Just to add another opinion here - trying to interpret the recent MR News post:

Perhaps the Studio Pro monitor will be a high end 27" monitor without the webcam, mic, speakers? Since Pro users are more likely to have their own setup and workflow already - similar to the purpose behind the XDR. Studio Pro would be a shrunken down XDR perhaps? Along these lines, if the Studio Pro launches with the new Apple Silicon Mac Pro I could see that as supporting evidence for the Pro display focusing completely on image quality and performance, not the all-in-one aspect. So 27", Mini-LED, high color accuracy, etc. Only caveat would be that of course its going to be more expensive than the Studio display ($2,500 - $3,000?) which might be a dealbreaker. Thoughts?

Hah, I’m in the other boat… would love to see the Pro XDR Display (or another with the same size and resolution), but with the webcam and the speakers of the Studio Display. I just need pretty good sound, and don’t like external speakers taking up desk space. The sound of the Mac Mini is just atrocious, so I won’t default to that.

Wonder if the Mac Studio will have better speakers

The iMac Pro speakers were terrific! Not like you're going to master an audio track with them.. but certainly good enough for any content consumption.

totally agree, I was never a fan of all in ones til I got my iMac Pro. Really hoping there is a successor.

I always liked the Apple Thunderbolt Display speakers. My current display is the Dell UP2715K, and they’re not as good.
