Any good recommand for a download manager software that can controled by web?

I use a mac mini as a home server, using Tranmission as PT download manager. But it can only download P2P,I like a download manager software can add URL via it's web and can download HTTP things.

If you want to this using a Mac you can remote control your Mini with a VNC, this way you can control the whole Mac, not only one program.

VNC is slow and not convenient especially in WAN environment(my upload bandwith is only 512kbps)
with web control I can get the point at first time.VNC is only a solution that my mac mini need change setting that profile manager can't do well.

Oh, I know it is not fast, I just gave you an option, except for what I mentioned I do not have any other suggestions, not aware of such software.
