Avadon HD could be considered an epic game. Its a turn-based RPG that I believe was ported from a PC version.

Aralon HD fits your category for sure. It's sort of a portable Elder Scrolls type game. I second Dungeon Hunter II also. Again, not a great story, but a pretty epic hack and slash game.

Dead space REALLY rocks.....And it's the only full on paid for game I have on my iPad. Really spooky too. Play with headphones on and crank up the volume!

Angry Birds Rio & Tiny Wings

The best games are probably Angry Birds Rio and Tiny Wings. They also, work on the iPod Touch/iPhone which is where I play them! Overall they both get boring after you beat them or even play for a long time because you start to figure that there isn't much to it. Well I hope you play the, and if you don't know about them/are not convinced, you should watch these reviews/game plays!
