Are there any games with a good story to them for the iPad? Something like legend of dragoon or xenogears.

Infinity Blade is really not an "epic" game. Walk in, beat up few things, die, repeat.

Square has some games out there. Final Fantasy, Chaos Rings (or something like it)

It's the definition of an epic game. It's made by Epic Games.

Dungeon Hunter 2 was a lot of fun, but the story writing was a bit "meh"

Aralon HD fits your category for sure. It's sort of a portable Elder Scrolls type game. I second Dungeon Hunter II also. Again, not a great story, but a pretty epic hack and slash game.

You'd think there would be more! -sigh- I wonder if it is the market. Would it be accurate to assume people with iOS devices don't have an interest in long games?

Wait, that can't be right. This same device is used to read books!

Do you mean 'Epic' as in 'grand scale', or as in made by Epic?
The grammar used in the title, suggests the latter, but I could be wrong. :D

Angry Birds Rio & Tiny Wings

The best games are probably Angry Birds Rio and Tiny Wings. They also, work on the iPod Touch/iPhone which is where I play them! Overall they both get boring after you beat them or even play for a long time because you start to figure that there isn't much to it. Well I hope you play the, and if you don't know about them/are not convinced, you should watch these reviews/game plays!
