The Windows laptop world is a mess. No one agrees on who makes the most reliable ones. When you read good reviews about one--then I find all of these complaints about it (for example 2014 Dell XPS 15" whining).

1) 2014 Dell XPS 15"

2) Aspire V17 Nitro 17". Seems like you get a lot of bang for your buck, but not a lot of information on this machine, except the track pad stinks.

I am either looking for 15 or 17 inches--I guess a desktop replacement laptop. Need 16 Gigs of RAM.

I am not a gamer, but the Aspire has some hard core specs for a laptop.

Dell got that new edge to edge computer. I'd get that. Had it been out when I bought my MBPr I would've gone with it.
