I recently bought the new 2.5ghz MBP 17" with high res and glossy LED backlit option after selling my old MBP first gen 15" Core Duo 1.86ghz laptop.
First thing i noticed was the monitor. I don't think there is any word to describe how awesome it is other than "w00t!! pwnage, im going to jizz".
Anyway, now I am seriously considering to replace my MAC Pro with this laptop as the main machine. I don't need all the power that MacPro offers and frankly after a week on the laptop without touching MacPro, I don't think i miss it except one thing which brings me to this topic. I love my dual-screen monitors but none of my monitor compares to the amazing 17" monitor on the MBP.
I am assuming the biggest thing that 17" has that none of the monitors have is the higher DPI? I just tried 24" 1920x1200 and I still prefer the 17" monitor. Can somebody explain the DPI of the apple monitor and the ACD? I am trying to research on it but there's so much crap on the internet that i can't pinpoint the information that I need. (sighs i miss the old days of google before the additional 200 trillions of useless sites and 100pb of crappy data)
Does anybody know if there is any monitor that is in the same league as the apple's monitor?
