Any free 3D program which can import/export VRML?

Happy New Year! I am using Solidworks to build 3D models. Are there any good and free 3D program which allows one to import VRML assemblies, make modifications and then export as individual meshes (possibly textured)? I tried Blender but importing VRML does not work. Thanks.
