So I have my mini connected to my tv (22" Vizio VO22L) and the monitor supports 1680x1050, but OS X doesnt recognize that, so I needed to use SwitchResX. I used it on my old mini and dont remember having to register it, but when I got my new one and installed it, they said I had a 10 day trial. Now I dont really feel like paying for software that 1) OS X should be able to let me do and 2) Vizio should provide me with the drivers anyway. So what are my options here people?

Thanks.

I'm glad you posted this dude, as im after the same application, but without meaning to sound like a cheap skate, is there any other alternatives out there that will enable us to run our own resolutions on our display panels ?

Use your old monitor load up "Displays" and check Detect Displays, When you connect your vizio up, It should automatically select a resolution your Mini can display.

Minis are capable of going 1680x1050

when I plug the vizio in, 1680x1050 is not on that list. How do I get it on the list is what I'm asking.
