iOS 26 changes the default dot to a mouse pointer, if your iPad supports this OS version.

Connect a device
Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth and pair your mouse or trackpad.
Magic Keyboard: A built-in trackpad works automatically once connected.

Customize the pointer
Open Settings.
Tap Accessibility.
Tap Pointer Control.
Adjust the settings as desired:

Size: Change the size of the pointer.
Color: Select a new color for the pointer.
Increase Contrast: Makes the pointer's border more prominent.
Automatically Hide Pointer: Adjust how long the pointer stays visible when not in use.
Animations: Toggle whether the pointer changes shape when interacting with on-screen elements.
Trackpad Inertia: Controls the "stickiness" when scrolling quickly with a trackpad.
Scrolling Speed: Adjust how fast the content scrolls.
