I have mactheripper and roxio, when I ripped/burned a movie, it did not include the opening scene type thing that you normally see at the start of a dvd and didnt include the different chapters. How can I do it correctly so I get chapters etc. Am i just using the wrong settings?

MacTheRipper has a "feature-only" option which rips only the movie itself - perhaps you'd selected that option unintentionally.

I tried that still didnt seem to work, any idea of what to do? are there any other programs?

Additionally, if the DVD you're copying is on DL (dual layer) media and you don't have a DL drive, then you'll need something like DVD2oneX or Popcorn to 'shrink' the video to fit on SL media.

Would you please elaborate why?

TIA,

Its faster on my MDD - usually by a few minutes - and has never failed on any disc, while DVDBackup choked big time on Scarface for some reason.

Who cares, they're both free. He asked for an alternative to MTR and I offered one.

Edit: Also MTR doesn't require you to open DVD player first.

Thanks for the input.

Been using DVDBackup. Because of this list, tried out MTR. Interesting.

Again, thanks for the feedback.

Plus DVDBackup seems to be a pretty much forgotten app now, whilst MacTheRipper is still being developed.
Good point!

It seems like there are some features with MTR that DVDBackup does not have. Cool.
