So, I just read Red Steel 2 will have no multiplayer. Sigh. I don't know about you guys, but for me the fun of gaming is having a group of people together going nuts, not just by myself (though there have been some good games like that).

So, my question is, are there any good FPS games for the Wii that use the splitscreen? I don't want to do multiplayer over the internet, I want the other people in the room with me.

That way I can smack them when they sniper me :D.

There honestly aren't any good Wii FPS games that offer split-screen. I mean, Metroid Prime 3 is single-player only, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is only online multi-player, and there aren't any other stand-out first-person shooters on Wii in my opinion. Not even the Conduit, which comes out in less than a week, features split-screen.

All I've played is Red Steel 1 and that was just okay. I actually thought it was the best aspect of the game too.

You could always play some splitscreen GC games on the Wii. Timesplitters 2 took up loads of my time years back (and why o bloody why is that not on the Xbox 360 b/c list? idiots! it was one of the best FPS games last gen).

With COD WaW, your friend can assist in the battle.. Using a Wii Zapper... :]

Such a waisted opportunity by so many developers. Here we have a console that can point, and all they focus on is waggle.

Speaking of the Conduit, High Voltage is working on a Wii game in the flavor of L4D, but that's probably a year off at least.

Anyways, I've never been a fan of split screen. It was OK with Golden Eye and Halo, but still bleh compared to having my own screen, but that's me. :)

That's pretty sad / pathetic that after so long the only game is Red Steel, which came out on launch day and wasn't really good (though I agree with Jimmi that the multiplayer was one of the best parts of it). The Wii was made for things like this! Hell, they even had it in their little video of people playing different types of games on the couch when the Wii first came out.

Fail +1

Developers aren't wasting the opportunity. They simply don't want to make good FPS's for the Wii. The controller is awful for those kind of games. Ya I said it AWFUL! The only way that they could even make it remotely possible to enjoy those kind of games on the Wii is if they would implement "perfect" 1:1 movement but that isn't possible for the Wii right now.

have you played Metriod Prime? It was golden! The Conduit, based on early reports, has great control. Also I hear Metal of Honor has good controls.

None of them use MotionPlus...

Ok, not trying to be rude here, but are you trying to troll? That's become really old hat at this point.

The Wii has the best set up for a FPS, the analog stick has been repeatedly described as working horribly for FPS. Personally, I can't stand playing a FPS with it, yet love playing them with the Wii. And 1:1 movement? MotionPlus?

Wow, you're talking as if there haven't been any decent FPS controls on the Wii yet, though Medal of Honour and Metroid Prime 3 say otherwise.
Bad troll!
