Looking for a laptop stand for 17" MBP, to stand on same level as ACDs more or less.

Other then the obvious choices like the Griffin Elevator, Rain mStand etc.., are there any other good alternatives out there? Can't seem to find any other nice ones...

Thanks.

Here's something ChEaPo and very PC like:

I have my 17" on the mStand and it does not fail to garner complements every time anyone sees it.

I would get the mStand. I believe it puts it up at about the right height.

 So.... PC like...

Dude... it's made of cheapo plastic. there's nothing better then the mStand. For me, Im cushion guy.

With the Belkin Cushtop, i can use it in bed ! BUT... unfortunately, it add "some" heat.

Go for the rain mStand. There's nothing that looks better, plus you have easy access to your superdrive (if you have the early 2008 or older).

In the first generation of the mStand, I remember there was a problem with the DVI cable from the ACDs not being able to fit though the hole in the stand... was that issue ever fixed? Is the hole any bigger on the current generation?

There's a 2nd generation mStand?

To answer your question: no, the hole is still not big enough. So, that's the only cord i don't have running though it. Maybe it has something to do with compromising the integrity of the structure. Maybe it's just an oversight.
Either way, it's still a great stand.

P.S.- that rocketfish stand that pika posted is fugly. Don't go for that.
(Sorry pika... it is.)

Doubt making the hole a cm bigger (or maybe turning it into an oval like the ACD) would change anything in the strength... Not as if the MacBook weights 50 pounds... they could've made the stand 2x thinner and it still would've held up the MBP with ease...

Ok guys... i just ordered a mStand to replace my Belkin Cushtop. I hope ill love it because i was about to buy this cheapo RocketFish stand at BestBuy for the same price ($59.99).

ugh. You're not serious are you? Were you seriously gonna buy that crap? And for 60 dollars? I mean come on, you can find the same plastic trash on eBay for 5-10 bucks with free shipping... :/

anyone know of an online store that will ship mstand or xtand pro internationally, that only charges $10-15 for shipping? all the stores that i visited charges $30-50 shipping only. i really want to get one but shipping cost so much.

have not seen one of those in our local store.
