Google Flickr Hivemind...
Hivemind mines flickr for cool stuff from it's users. Results posted in a single shot gallery mode where each pic links to their work on Flickr. A great way to see what is out there and being done, and observe trends (good and bad, lol).

Also on Flickr there are niche user groups with forums, I follow the aperture and the NIK users group... A good place to discover tips.

A shooter friend of mine recommends the Strobist...

isn't bad either....

I've subscribed to a few photography magazines without knowing much about them. I'm not sure if your in the US or not but if you are you can get a subscription to most photography magazines for about 10 bucks on amazon. However I think some of the ones from the UK are a lot better, but the price is higher. Just go to Barns and Noble(or your local bookstore) and check out a few magazines. If you think you'll like it spend the 10 bucks on amazon.
