Had speck for almost 10 years for multiple phones (Speck Presidio Pro). Dropped my phones 100s of times from various heights and never a scratch and was never concerned. Just got the Presidio Pro 2 for new 14 pro (https://speckproducts.com/products/presidio2-pro-magsafe-iphone-14-pro-cases). The bottom 3rd lens is uncovered. When laying flat its probably ok but for instance, if I rub the phone against edge of a table, third camera slides right against it. This now has me paranoid along with the sheer weight of the phone. Am I just being irrational or should I get a new case? I mean it does have "13 ft drop protection" like all its predecessors.

Don't want an otterbox but something rubber-ish like the Speck. The apple silicone case honestly felt great and covers the cameras completely, but I'm not sure it will be as protective as the Speck. Would it be a downgrade to switch to Apple? Or any other recommendations that look similar to Apple silicone?

I’ve been getting  Silicone Cases since my iPhone 6 and they’ve always protected my devices!
I haven’t dropped them a lot, but some took pretty hard falls

I wouldn’t consider the case you posted as ‘minimalist’… it’s just a normal case, when you say minimalist, I think of bumpers or skins.

Anyway, Apple silicone cases are very protective. I have one for my 12 Mini, bought it a year ago and have used it for around 7 months in total. Dropped my phone many times on hard surfaces with zero damage as shown in previous pictures I have posted of my phone.

I would highly recommend one.

This has been my favorite for my 13 and 14 Promax units. It does not protect very well for drops but good for scratches and has great grip!

+1. I’ve used and enjoyed other cases but my favorite always remains the silicone from apple! The fit and feel is perfect and I like the microfiber lining. Protects the phone from scratches

Take a look at the Caudabe Sheath. I was a long time Presidio Grip user, don't like the newer versions, and the Sheath has been a good replacement for it.
