One of the major topic about new iphones, which i found not many ppl are talking about- green tint issue.

For those of you who got iPhone today, can you try out if same issue happened on latest iphone?

Look in a dark room and turn the brightness down. Do greys look green?

Yellow tint, green tint, always discussed every year on launch. It just never ends lol.

I just got my 13 Pro, and it looks great. If anything, it leans a little blue, even with True Tone on, and certainly not the terrible piss yellow, weird screen I returned last year. So glad I returned my 12 and waited.

Thank you guys. Yes overall I have just not been happy with the 12 screen. It was frustrating with green tint and raised blacks all year. And the look of it just didn’t wow me. Hard to describe. Glad the 13pro is looking up

I just got out of my pitch black closet with some eye opening findings haha.

I compared my 12 Pro to my 13 Pro and what an INSANE difference at the lowest brightness setting, True Tone off, and dark mode enabled. I viewed settings and a Macrumors page and the 12 Pro looked absolutely horrendous with green tint extremely visible throughout. The color and contrast was night and day.

Because of this green tint, the 13 Pro appeared just a tad bit darker although I would say in scientific testing my 12 Pro in light mode can get a few nits dimmer than my 13 Pro in the settings app.

All this to say, I had some issues with the 12 Pro my first week with it noticing the blacks were not right and it looked horrible compared to my Xs Max. Some of the deep black issues were solved in future iOS 14 updates but this green tint issue is disappointing. I have to say the 12 Pro has the worst panel of all the AMOLED iPhone’s.

I’m seeing a slight greenish tint on a 13 Pro Max with more washed out colors than I had expected. As compared to my XS and iPad Pro (yes, I know it’s an LCD) with True Tone off, it clearly has the issue. To the apple store I go.

No green tint here. And much less of that purple outline in dark mode when scrolling. This screen is so nice!
It’s Y-OCTA too! At 18:30 here.

Look at the difference. I didn’t realize just how yellow my 12 PM screen was.

Well Hallelujah! Comparing the 12pro to 13pro screen; the greys the greys!!

On the 13pro it’s actually grey! The 12pro was a much lighter yellow mess. No green tint and not even a hint of raised blacks on the 13pro.

I can sleep happy now. Lol

Hello, I have this problem. I thought I was going mad but when having the phone brightness down low looking at it somewhere dark, grey things look green... This is on a 13 Pro Max.

Does anyone know of Apple is aware of this? And is it a defect?

Thanks!

Of course they’re aware of it but nothing is going to stop the launch of a new iPhone every year - including green blacks on low brightness.

They are aware, but from my conversations with them over the phone, I know they are willing to replace any phone affected with the defect. Provided you live in civilised country. Since I live in Bulgaria, I was forced to be in the mercy of the Apple reseller. Now I will have my 10 day old $1500 phone sent for a display replacement, instead of a whole unit replacement, which would be fine, except I have worked in Bulgarian service centers… Let’s say I just hope I get a decent repair.

That’s too bad your 13 Pro has it. I thought it was only on the 12. My 13 screen is nearly perfect. I will say, True Tone can make things look a little funny at low brightness. Is yours greenish with True Tone off?
