I have the Ryan London leather case and it’s a great case, but sometimes it feels super smooth and slippery.

Wondering if Nomad or any of the others are grippier? Or if this is just a downside of leather.

I used the Apple leather for 10 years, it was great, then used Apple silicone for 6 months. Now the leather feels slippery 🤣

A good leather case is going to be smooth and slippery when new. It takes some time for it to naturally patina and acquire the grip type texture, which happens from the interaction with the natural oils from your fingers etc. My BullStrap case was the same way. After 3 months or so, it has gotten very good color and grip to it.

The search for a leather case has been challenging and expensive. My most recent purchase was the Bullstrap Minimalist and Flex cases which I received just 2 days ago. I have a more detailed breakdown in the "Patina Proud Photos" thread if you're interested.

All leather cases will be quite slippery when new. I previously had the Andar Aspen but ultimately found it too slippery. Their leather is super smooth which doesn't help. The Bullstrap leather has more texture to it so that probably helps a bit. I'm not gonna lie and say it's night and day but it feels better to me. For what it's worth, 2 days with the Minimalist was enough to convince me to order another one which I did earlier today.

Haven't tried the Ryan London (it was next on my list) but I no longer have the appetite to continue searching. I'm happy with the Bullstrap Minimalist. Good luck!

Leather will become more grippy as it's used and it wears.

If you want something grippy out the box, you may want to look at 'crazy horse' options

Check out the Luckycoin case on amazon. Mine is very grippy and it is quite minimalist.
