Was going for the new Ipod touch and nothing bit color changed so ive started to seriously look at ipad3.I would love to see a mini 7 inch Ipad show up this year since it would satisfy portability for me and extra screen space that Ipod lacked.Cant imaginge apple not seeing the need to release this size soon as Kindle fire gains in popularity.

Most likely the newest iPad will be announced late Feb or early March with a late March or early April release

But don't expect to see a second size iPad or a resize

The Kindle Fire's popularity has to do a lot more with its $200 price than its 7" size. Apple may release a 7" at some point in the future, but it won't be this year or next.

Some people even suggested the cycle may have changed to June which may allow more time to build inventory anyway. Clearly all speculation at this stage but the iPad 3 is not expected to be as big an evolutionary step as it was from original iPad to iPad 2

The definitive place to go on this site for iPad update rumors is http://ipad.macrumors.com .

IDK where all of these predictors are getting their information. The last reported here is that the iPad will wait for an A6 processor and that A6s won't be available until June at the earliest (article here).

Things may have changed, but I wouldn't put a lot of credibility in posts that are just throwing out some arbitrary date with nothing to explain the date.
