Hi,

OK, long story short... I forgot my MacBook Air M2 in my backyard yesterday and it rained. Thankfully, the laptop lid was closed. I quickly wiped all the water from the Mac. I opened it, and there didn't seem to be any water inside.

The back cover was difficult to remove, but even more of a pain to put back in because of the 4 little sliding tabs near the display. I finally succeeded in putting the cover back, but I somehow scratched one of these yellow thing that you can see in this screenshot.

Is there anyone who knows what these yellow things are for?

Judging by this ifixit image, the stripes are the exposed part of the subwoofer of the speaker chambers, where there is a black tape all over but there are hollowed stripes of holes. I am venturing to guess the function is for these blocks to touch the bottom plate so they can extend the vibrations to larger volumes of air inside the bottom chassis for higher bass volume.

It doesn't look like a slight damage will do anything to the system. You are lucky that this is like the only part you can afford to destroy inside the MBA.

Thank you! This would make sense. I also ran Apple Diagnostic, and so far my MacBook seems fine.

If anyone is interested, it looks my MacBook Air M2 survived the rain storm. After a few weeks, absolutely no problem to report. So if you ever leave your MB Air in the rain with the lid closed, just dry it with a towel and wait a few days before using it.
