I was reading on here yesterday on a similar thread, and I believe someone said they remembered buying on May 25th of last year and they had the promotion going at that time.

Historically it tends to start late May to early June. Generation means very little with this promo given that last year (and others I presume) let you apply the $200 iPod credit towards any iPod in the line up, except for when the released the newest one at the very end of the promo. I got an iPod classic last year, and if I get another MBP this year (wifey wants one now) I will probably get a touch this time around.
