Does anyone remember how early before it's release were the reviews out for the iPhone. Do you think people would get one early again this year?

Ermmm, i know David who stays in my street doesn't like the iPhone 3G so he aint getting one. I'm sure that's who you mean when you mention David, right?

As for Walt, do you mean Walt Disney??

EDITED

Walt Mossberg posted a full review of the original iPhone, to the WSJ, on June 27th 2007 (2 days from launch).
Now considering he'd of had to of been using the phone for at least a two weeks ;) before hand, to make a fair review, that suggests he had the phone on June 13th, or thereabouts.

Meaning Mossberg, if he's to get another early look in this year, should of had his mits on the iPhone 3G already, on Wednesday 25th June.
[= 11th minus 16 days (14 days use - and 2 days from launch)].

And we can expect the review on the WSJ on Wednesday 9th July 2008.

But that's just my nonsensical thinking on the matter.

All your math is wrong. In the beginning of his review he says "We have been testing the iPhone for two weeks" :D

That means he already has an iPhone 3G. That lucky bastard...

As always, Walt will get his iPhone when he signs the contract with Apple that says he has to write an overwhelmingly glowing review that has no real details. It is the same contract he always gets, but with a different date each time.

If he's had it a fortnight, then he's already got it as The above logic shows. With a pre-July 11 date for the allthingsd.com review by Walt, it is possible They'll usher in any unannounced parts either on the Tuesday or sometime prior to launch. You'd imagine Walt would see all the features.
