Any idea why a Samsung 997df CRT is blank during bootup?

It doesn't show anything from the time I hit the power button until the actual OS X gui is displayed. It would be a pain in the butt if I ever had to get into single-user mode. It's a fairly nice CRT so I can't imagine what's wrong.

Any ideas I can try to get it to display?
