I own a Mac Pro operating on OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

Each and every time I open a web page a second page opens by itself with an advertisement, any ides how to stop this.

Thanks:mad:

Reinstall OS X (without migrating data from the corrupted OS X)

Question: Did you install the malware 'MacKeeper'?

how do I reinstall OS X

I don't think I have installed MacKeeper, it all started when I downloaded a programme allowing me to play movies.

I would restore from a back up, install Sophos, stay away from dodgy sites, don't click on click bait articles.

Did you try "Reset Safari" from the Safari Menu?

I've just run AdwareMedic and at the moment it seems to have cleared the problem, fingers crossed and thanks for the advice everyone.

I've helped several people with this same issue recently. From what they told me, an adware/popup disguises or bundles itself as a video plugin that prompts you to install in order to watch a video content.

State Trooper to a driver in (insert any southern U.S. State) he just pulled over for a violation: Got any ID?

Driver: 'Bout what?
