hey guys,

I was thinking of sending in one of my 3G's back to apple for the battery replacement program, however im not sure if you can do this (and how much it costs) in the UK? any ideas?

Also, would they replace it with a 5G? I ask because im fond of my 3G's design and would rather have a replacement 3G

Also again, would the 3G be scratch free etc, or do they use the same shell as your old one?

I'm guessing because of a lack of 3G casings still around, you're just going to get your iPod with a new battery.

Also, the battery service that you pay for doesn't ever give you a new case, as far as I know. With a battery replacement under warranty, Apple might find it easier to just give you a new iPod, but I'm guessing you don't have warranty on a 3G.

Daniel.

No idea if they'll replace it but according to this it'll cost you £49. That's a standard price for battery replacement including the 512Mb Shuffle which costs? £49 :p :D

You will recive a new refurb 3g.. not a 5g. Belive me it'll be in sstock..
they replaced my 1g!! with a new one on the same program.
