I thin I'm going to pick up a new 13" rMBP in the next couple of weeks, I was just wondering if anyone knows any technical information regarding the new components aside from broadwell? I know the SSD is supposedly twice as fast, but what's actually changed about it, it's still jsut listed as PCIe flash, which is supposedly "twice as fast", and I know the RAM is slightly faster too, and is "LPDDR3" rather than "DDR3L"... yeah.

The new rMBPs still use the same PCIe bus, but Apple now uses 4-lane drives across all capacities. Previously, only 1TB ones had 4 lanes.

The Iris 6100 is significantly better than the 5100 when it comes to powering 4K displays. It can support 4K at 60 Hz natively.

Other than that, USB 3.1 and the trackpad, nothing's new. Oh and if I'm not mistaken, 1866MHz RAM as well (just like the nMP minus ECC).

The 4-lane drives for PCIe bus are standard on the 15" rMBP as well? Or just on the updated 13"???

The 4-lane PCIe bus has been on all rMBPs since late-2013; the only thing is that until two days ago, all capacities (except 1TB) used 2 lanes.

Since the 15" hasn't been updated, 256 and 512GB are still 2-lane, while 1TB is 4-lane.
