Ok, so I normally don't need to ask for help when it comes to iPhone related issues but this time I'm in over my head! Here's what happened:

I accidentally dropped my iPhone X on the pavement from about waist height. The screen shattered in a very small area in the upper left corner just where the bezel meets the edge of the screen and a hairline crack stretches along the screen and another stretches into the left side of the notch, over the sensors, towards the earpiece. The phone functioned normally for the first 24 hours after which Face iD completely stopped working. About 5 restarts later Face iD was functioning again and lasted another 24 hours before it failed. Only this time something is seriously up with the lightning port.

I noticed that it wasn't charging even though it was plugged in to a regular charger and it was asking me to unlock the phone to make it work with the USB accessory. I quickly turned off USB restricted mode and the phone stopped asking me to unlock it but it still wouldn't charge. I was already low on batteries and the phone soon turned off. When I attempt to turn it on, as long as it's not already plugged in, the screen displays the normal graphics showing me the battery is empty and the white lightning cable. When I plug in the cable it charges up just enough to turn on but then immediately I can tell from the battery icon that it isn't charging any more. This means that I'm only able to get it up to a 2-4% charge before it soon runs out again and turns off.

It's obviously in need of serious reapir but what I would really like is to have a recent local backup before I hand it over. I feel like there is a solid chance that I will be able to charge it fully once I am able to get a hold off a wireless charger but the real problem, which I've noticed when I get it up to a few percentages, is that it does not show up in neither iTunes nor the Photos app. I find this whole scenario rather puzzling since the lightning port doesn't appear to be completely dead, if it was the phone would not charge at all, but it's charging just enough that I can turn it on over and over again but stops charging as soon as it turns on. I've tried turning it off while it's still plugged in to see if it would keep charging that way but that doesn't appear to work and in any case what I really want it to do is to just show up in iTunes so that I can back it up.

I know there are a lot of smart people out there that know a whole lot more than I do about these sorts of things so if any one can think of some workaround that doesn't involve iCloud backups or wireless backups (it doesn't show up in iTunes so I can't initiate a wireless backup either) I would be very grateful. Thank you!
