I have a MBP 15" and it has no issues with Adobe Audition. But, I want to get a second smaller system to leave in the recording area. I like the idea of a fanless system. Does anyone use a MacBook for Audition? Does it work well? I would probably look at a used/refurb 2016 low end unit.

So the only issue I had with mine — and it's been a while since I've tried it so I don't know if it's been fixed — is that when trying to connect via USB to the Mac, I was getting static due to the power delivery going through the same port. I had the problem with an aftermarket adapter and the Apple one. I ended up having to continue using my MacBook Pro. I want to try and use my MacBook as a Skype device now for podcasting, so I'm going to try again, but I haven't had a chance to do it yet.

That being said, if you're just editing files, it will run Audition fine.

Eric, thanks for the reply.

I would use this unit primarily for recording. So any issue with static is a major problem. Maybe I need to rethink getting Macbook. Also, since the new Macbook pros have usb c connection for power, I wonder if they have the same issue, or is it unique to sharing the one and only one port.

Seemed to be unique to sharing the port. I may be the only one with this issue too. I can say I have a 2016 MBP 13 tb and a 2017 MBP 15 and do not have a similar issue with them.
