My wife & I are both currently in the iUP with the iP7 126GB. The original idea was that we would just upgrade each year. After explaining to her what the iP8 & iPX add (or moreso, what they don't add) she said "I don't need a new phone and a new 2 year lease, and in a year, I'll just own this one outright."

I had already decided to skip the iPX, but I'm trying to decide if I want to step up to the bigger iP8+, but I'd only have half the memory space with the 64GB. If I decide to not go with the bigger iP8+, I'll probably join my wife, hold off until 2018 and we will both own our phones outright.

Is anyone else in the iUP thinking of just skipping the upgrade & keeping their current iP7 to the end of the 2 year term?

I'm thinking about keeping my 7 plus as well. The only thing I like about the 8 plus is the new speakers. Battery life seems the same so I don't see the point of upgrading. The X is too damn expensive. Plus I like the thumb scanner. It works great.
I keep looking for a reason to upgrade to the 8 plus but so far I haven't found one.

Same here.
Depends on the value you place on your ip7 next year.

Probably will not be worth much for trade in. Would be nice to have back up.

I have the 256GB so is the exact same monthly amount. Would be like getting 7s. If I don't get ipx seems okay thing to do.

I'm going for the 8 Plus. I've got the 7 Plus 256 so the monthly payment is the same. I don't see a reason not to upgrade, but I've got a few reservations with regards to the X (mostly to do with Face ID).

Reservations too.
I have upgraded every year since ip3. Feel like I need to draw a line the sand this year.

I want the x for the newness but not totally sold on it yet. I am going with the 8 plus.

Keeping mine. Already paid for half the cost so that means effective trade in value right now is just $425. That first year is the biggest drop. Depreciation for this coming year is probably just another $100-200. If I upgrade now, that's gonna be $400-500 depreciation and the new phones aren't quite compelling enough for me to take that depreciation hit.

I buy new iPhones every year. I have the 7 Plus and this year I don’t know about upgrading. I don’t feel like the 8 is worth the extra year paying for a phone however the monthly payment is the same. So trading in the 7 Plus now for same payments until the next version of the X come out next year seem like an option.
