Any luck with Isync and unsupported phones?

Hi, I am currently shopping for a new cell phone and want to sync with Isync. However, the phones that I am looking at purchasing are all not supported by Isync - older phones from the same maker are but not the newest ones. In particular, I am looking at both old and new versions of Nokia, Sony-Ericsson and Siemens.

My question is has anyone had luck trying to use a newer unsupported phone by trying to make Isnyc think it is an older phone of the same line? Is this possible? Are there other ways to accomplish this? Or, should I just stick to investigating already supported phones?

I've downloaded plugins for iSync from NovaMedia for my last couple of phones, works really well.

lg u300 doesn't work. other than that it is a great phone
