The MK does a good enough job protecting the iPad when closed but does nothing for the Pencil or the iPad itself if you need to lay it flat for drawing. I know there were some cases for the '22 iPads compatible with MK for this very purpose but are there any available with the new M4 iPad?

Looking for same thing, hoping to find a frosted clear one with black edges…

Not yet, and I do an extensive search at least once a day. Leads me to believe that manufacturers waited until they were in physical possession of the new IPPs and MKBs to ensure the fit and compatibility were confirmed and optimized given the new dimensions and magnet alignment.

I have both but prefer the extra protection….and want to give the pencil holder on the MAGEASY a try

I have the Pitaka and MagEasy ordered. Wanted to see how the MagEasy works with the pencil holder figured I would return the on I don’t like..

The MagEasy I did not care for, my screen protector could have been the cause as it has to be .83 or less I believe is what the site says and I have a Speigen Paper Touch one. My Pitaka is on the way, its requirement is no more then 1.25mm so if it does not work with my current one I will put a Zagg on it.

What I don't like about the Pitaka is that you can only use it flat on the surface, there's no flap to have different viewing angles.
Why don't you just get a Zugu case and use it when you want to use the iPad as a tablet without they keyboard?

What I like about the Pitaka is the added protection on the sides, plus is it will work with the Smart Folio also which I have also.

I would have gotten the Pitaka but you can only use it flat on the surface/ there are no adjustable viewing angles.

They have another case that does have angles but I prefer the Apple case. My Pitaka should be here tomorrow so o can post some pictures of it.

A case for when you use a case :D
Many owners of the original MKB discovered scuffed areas on the exterior of the base section over time. Some, like me, resorted to skins for the case. I used mine that way but felt it was too tedious a process to do this with the new MKB. So far I would say that the exterior material Apple used in the new version is different enough to be scuff resistant as I’ve not had any such issue. Even fingerprints are easy to wipe clean when necessary.

For those needling additional protection a “case for the case” is necessary if skins aren’t used. For this, Burton and Dodo are about the only options and work very well, but not cheap.
