Any MBP/Chrome issues or a RAM upgrade necessary?

I just bought a (low-end) 13in MBP with 4GB RAM, 2.4 GHz i5 at a great deal. I liked it's portability but still a good amount of power. I would classify myself as a medium-weight user. I do work in the internet space, using a lot of browser windows, word processing, presentation software, occasionally something like an omnigraffle, but I am not a graphic designer. So I won't be using Photoshop, or doing heavy video/flash editing, etc. Also not a gamer. In the couple days I've been using the MBP, it's frozen up and chugged, requiring a hard reboot. I've always been on Chrome--are there any issues using Chrome or should I try to exchange/upgrade to a faster processor and more RAM? I've been a PC user for the past 10 years or so, so I am new to Mac laptops.
