hi i was just wondering if anyone else is a multi-genre music fan like me. What i mean by that is does anyone enjoy all kinds of music, for example I love all kinds of music (except country :( ). And the funny thing is im a huge gangsta rap fan and a huge opera fan :D kinda strange. lol what are your guys favorite genres of music

I really like pop punk and metal, but I enjoy quite a variety - probably most heavier genres (deathcore, grindcore, black metal, thrash). I also enjoy some experimental stuff. I used to get into indie, but a recent incident has pushed me away from alot of indie stuff. I'm also a fan of electronic-type stuff, like Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, and Does It Offend You, Yeah? I occasionally enjoy top 40 pop, but only if there's nothing else on the radio.

Here are some examples of my iPod on shuffle:

  • NWA - F!!! tha Police / Christopher Cross - Sailing
  • Prodigy - Smack My B Up / Dave Brubeck - Take Five
  • Eazy E - Rather F!!! You / Elton John - Yellow Brick Road
  • Wojciech Kilar - Vampire Hunters (Dracula ST) / Mozart - Turkish March

I could go on - but you get the drift.

I'm listening to Wild Nothing, Childish Gambino, Aaliyah, Rick Ross, the XX, D'Angelo and FM Attack this week.

I don't limit myself to one genre of music. I credit my parents. There was always a clusterkcuf of music playing in the house lol.

Pop Punk
90’s Grunge/Alternative
Rock

All my genre’s are within a certain range I guess, with the exception of really liking Eminem.

Of course I don't stick to one genre. I'm into hip-hop, rock, acoustic, trance, dance, drumnbass, classical, hard rock... I like to think I'm very broad-minded when it comes to music. I don't listen to music as fashion, I listen because I enjoy.

yea i agree to be narrow minded when it comes to music is like being ignorant in my opinion. Theres lots you can learn from listening to different kinds of music

My kinda thread! I would say that I am as unorthodox as they come as it relates to multi-genre music. I truly love all kinds equally. Current playlist includes:

Fleetwood Mac, DJ Tiesto, Paul Okenfold, Black Sabbath, Niel Diamond, The Ramones, Lady GaGa, Ludacris, TRU, DMX, Lady Antebellum, The Killers, REM, Boston, Black Eyed Peas, Vampire Weekend, and a little Pixies for good measure! :D

Yea I'm pretty sporadic when it comes to musical taste.

I like Drum and Bass, Jungle, Ambient & Electronica, and Alternative/college rock.

Classic rock, hip hop, indie bands, rap, acoustic, jazz, grunge, classical, jam bands, techno, folk, emo, dancehall, alt rock, reggae, electro-pop... Play it and I'll see if I like it.

My list of favorite bands/albums/songs is pretty random. :)

Gosh, I love Trance, House, Tech Step, Orchestral, Religious, Electronica, Electro, Alternative, a bit of Indie, and some country. I like a few hip hop/rap songs, but not enough to like the actual genre.

As long as it's not rap or country I'll probably like it. I'm into oldies though. I can't stand the sh** they play on the hit radio stations today.

I listen to pretty much everything. And this list is just a small sample.
Barry White
Radiohead
Arctic Monkeys
X Japan
Tiesto
The Carpenters
Styx
Eminem
Lady Gaga
ELO
TI
Hank williams Sr
Bob Seger
Rush
Dolly Parton
Animal Collective
nicki minaj
Beach Boys
Reo Speedwagon

I will listen to any Genre if i like it. For example, i will be listening to some old rap song then go listen to I ran so far away.

I love rap the most but most of then new rap is terrible. Like the stuff on hit radio stations as previously mentioned i can't stand.

I don't understand why everyone hates on Bieber so much, being a musician myself and the same age as him i respect him for how far he has come even though i don't like his music.

I would say i don't like his music because it's pre packaged. I like music that has depth and is creative. Granted most pop music is pre-packaged but look at lady gaga she has talent she can play the piano and her shows are creative.

He may be famous but he's not talented IMO and when his voice is finished changing i hope he still has a career.

I completely agree that his music is pre packaged and i hate that.
